About the Swiss Chess Federation for the Deaf
SSVH (in German: Schweizerischer Schachverband für Hörbehinderte) is the Swiss Chess Federation for the Deafs and organises tournaments, swiss team championships and the swiss individual championships.

World Deaf Chess Championships 2008 in St. Gallen
At the ICSC (International Committee of Silent Chess) congress in Bad Malente, Germany on August 1st, 2004 the ICSC delegates decided that the SSVH is allowed to ogranise individual chess world championships in St. Gallen. It was held from July 19th to August 2nd, 2008. 2008 the chess WC had a new category: Deaf-blinds.
